I don't see any problem doing the actual adjustment other than the obvious unpleasantness, but if it were me I would've ran the engine to warm, drain the oil and then wait over night before tackling the adjustment. The problem is at that temperature, I'm not sure you will get all the old oil out that you should, no matter how long it drains. Cheers
