There may be many professions, but I personally know of teaching and nursing positions that "forgive" student loans after so many years of service. Typically they must "serve" in high-need areas, usually the poor/dangerous areas where no one else is motivated to take the job. They still get paid a competitive wage, but their federal loans disappear after 2-4 years.
