I started with two years in a tech school before transferring to UNH. I met a girl at the tech who was a young, single mom. She was in the same program as I was and we ended up working together once. We got talking about costs and such, it came up that the state was paying her way. The entire way, books included. I mentioned I found some great deals on year old texts (the tech actually used them!) through amazon.com. She said "Thats great. The state pays for my books, so I just go to the bookstore and get new ones." Really? The state is paying for your education and you feel NO obligation to try and save a few bucks? She dropped out after one semester. Im not sure if dropped out is the correct word, I think she just stopped showing up.
