About ten years ago I rescued a box turtle that was trying to cross a busy 4 lane road. His chances we very low without my rescue. I just happened to have a 5 gallon bucket with me so it was the perfect place to put him as I drove to work. A friend of mine is married to a lady that loves to raise turtles in her back yard. I gave her the turtle and forgot about it. Two days later another turtle in a different area of town needed a rescue. It ended up at the same lady's house. A few days later she called and was all excited. Those two turtles were humping all the time. I had rescued two turtles and brought them to turtle heaven. Unlimited food, a perfect turtle house, no predators, and no other turtles to compete with. The female laid a bunch of eggs and all the babies survived. She has had to drop off baby turtles in the woods all around her house.
