Not sure if you guys remember what happened when Enzo Ferrari passed away, that was some 25 years ago! Almost overnight prices for vintage Ferraris skyrocketed. Fast forward to 2012... Ferdinand Alexander Porsche appears to have done the same thing!

I've been monitoring prices on eBay and other sites and it looks like 1st generation 911s have in fact appreciated by 10%, in some cases 15%. While not exactly a redo of what happened in 1988, I think we're off to a good start.

Just last month a last of the line 3.2 cost well under $20,000... more like $18,000 for a well sorted example. Today I found 4 examples on eBay, each with a starting price of $25,000.
