Actually, I feel that production Ferrari's got much better Post Enzo, however Enzo always wanted "special" cars, his interest was the racing. These passionate "special" racing cars, are what got people into the brand. The only three important parts of the production cars for Enzo, was that they funded the race car, that they looked the best, and that they sounded excellent. If you wanted anything else, look elseware.

Modern Ferrari's have "improved". They are much much "better" cars, but I feel a lot of them won't stand the test of time into classic status.

As for Porsches, a key element has been their practicality, the 356 changed from being mid engined, to rear engined, to enable more cabin space, giving it back small back seats. Unlike Ferrari, I do not feel the modern generation Porsche's have lost base with their roots. Porsches, both old, and new are soulless machines, but yet, you can fall in love with them anyway. Enzo's Ferrari's seem to be alive, but will frustrate the day lights out of you if you can't put up with the crap they throw at you.

Because of the lack of soul that *most* Porsches built have, I do not see how the son of the founder of Porsche passing away, is going to make a huge impact on the price of the cars. The few special Porsche's will still appreciate faster, and there will always be some desirability for the less special. As age takes its toll on #'s on the road, this will result in a shrinking supply, so eventually, each model of Porsche, will bottom out in price, then steadily start to climb.
