Huff should have asked for Reichert's watch commander or supervisor the second he was detained after he was told he was free to go. He should have told his passenger to STFU. Passenger doesn't have to answer a single question. And if a cop ever started asking me questions unrelated to the original reason for the stop, I'd interrupt him and ask if I was free to go. There is no need to assist or prolong the fishing expedition. Once the cop tells you the only reason you were pulled over was for weaving, as long as there's nothing in plain sight, you're not visibly impaired and your docs check out, the worst that should happen is a cite for failure to maintain your lane. Anything else is fishing and you should not play along.
