My cable company finally came out to fix things after I had called 3 times because the TV picture was like an episode of Max Headroom. All the young-uns on the forum will have to google him to know what that means. They spent an hour in the house looking at every connection and decided I was right, it was OK. They finally opened their tamper proof box that is attached to the back of my house and saw the connections were bad. New connections and all is well. Then they tried to ad $35 to my monthly bill for the fix. I explained my position and
it is possible I was a little hostile to the blithering idiot at the central office.
They fixed the billing error and lowered my bill 20 bucks a month for 6 months.
