I've noticed that some of my photos look real cool if I tilt the laptop screen a few more degrees, but I don't want to edit the photo like that because I don't think that effect (partially due to having a light shining through the colors) will transfer to a print or to other monitors. And it does tend to increase the contrast and make the shadows too dark.
I don't really print photos anymore, just look on the computer, so they are fine for what I do. I think they look better as my desktop wallpaper.
