Are the doors strong enough to hold themselves together with the inside metal removed?
I may be down this road myself shortly, as soon as I get a tow rig. However I'm thinking I would just pull the glass and regulators but leave the metal as-is, in case I want to reinstall the windows later.
The weight savings must be considerable.
