How much time do you have before the wife comes home? There was a rerun of 'Coach' the other night where he burned up Christines oven. He realized they were in a condo and the next door neighbor had an exact unit. They made the switch in the nick of time.
There was a post a couple years ago where the guy had a picture of a disassembled engine he ran through his dishwasher.
