When I was in college, I had a coach tell me once (he was about 31 at the time) that we (as students) had no idea how easy we had it. Realistically, all we had to worry about in college was studying. We (most of us at least) didn't have to worry about real "adult things," like earning a living, saving for retirement, navagating the rat race, how to afford that new roof for the house, what to do with aging parents, etc. Heck, most of us didn't even have to really worry about paying for school/housing/food/books, even if we were on student loans or work-study.
He didn't mean it in a condescending way. It was more of an: appreciate where you are in life right now. It's a special 4 years. Don't look back on it full of coulda, shoulda, wouldas. One day, you will (to a certain degree) wish you were back in college.
