My brother-in-law (thinks he's invincible, power-lifter type) waited until 58 for his first colonoscopy, despite the fact that his dad had colon cancer. Bad move. A couple of week ago he was diagnosed with rectal cancer. Fortunately they were able to cut out that bad stuff and he should be fine. If he's lucky they'll be able to hook the plumbing back up and colostomy bag will only have been a temporary inconvenience.
