The wood up top is just thin decorative ply, not sure what's under it. I'm sure there are stringers but I've got a couple of spare wall mounts so don't want to have to buy another.

If your weight is only 20 lbs just use 4 lag shields into the brick, throw in 6 if you are worried. It doesn't look like the red brick your mounting on is hollow, usually red brick is solid.
20lbs is not that heavy. You'll be ok.
