Last night I saw a bad crash on Laurel Cyn as I was coming home from my parents'. On the Valley side going south, along the straightaway just past Fryman Canyon, but before climbing the hill. Some driver went off the side of the road, must have launched off the driveway cutout of a house, and nailed a telephone pole dead center (possibly no pun--the windshield was starred and a big red splotch). Cars are often doing 30-45 mph at that stretch.
