The black, stepped lip, circle chunk you show in your picture may be the drift that is used to remove.....and replace the thin bushing that presses into the two frame holes where the attaching bolts, spacers, and spring tabs go.
Right now, go and check to see if the spacers you have will actually fit snugly in the frame holes............or are they loose because a bushing in needed. Order some bushings and O rings to if needed.

Ain't this forum a great place for information? I
knew you guys would come through! Right now, the sport/track stand "spools" are still attached to the frame. I won't remove them until I have all parts and am sure what I'm doing. No need to rush, really. Yes, that black anodized spacer seems is a BMW tool, since the minor step-down OD corresponds with OD of the Item 5 Pivot Pins. It makes sense the original Item 2 Bush Bearings would be missing since they would not be reusable. I also have Item 10 Tension Spring Holder, which is still threaded in place but not in use.
So it looks like I need a pair of Item 2 and at least new o-rings for Item 5. Unsure if new version Item 5 w/ 3 o-rings is worth prox $26/pair. When and why were those incorporated as a running change? My 2004 was built Oct 2003.
