When we got our red International, the VIN and DOT numbers from the previous company were still VERY legible. We ended up having to cover the entire lower section of the door with a diamond deck look vinyl to get our own numbers to read right.
Yes, red is a horrible color about fading. I certainly wouldn't do anything on the top side of my car....
