It's legal here and I've checked. And I'd not hesitate to exercise my right to defend myself or another person if threatened by a dog either. I wouldn't want to, but if it was obvious that the dog was attacking there'd be a dead dog and (most likely) a stupid owner swearing up and down that the dog never did that before demanding justification for the execution of his "little angel". I don't care. I don't have to explain my actions to imbeciles or those in denial, but I'm not about to stand by and watch as I'm given an invitation to a family member or friend's funeral either.
