Everything that needs to be said on this topic was posted back in post #40.
All dogs can have a bad day and suddenly turn on someone. The difference is, with most dogs its a little nip and a growl. Worth the risk for having the benifit of a companion in the home and all the other good things that a dog brings to the home.
With a pitbull / lion / bear, a bad day becomes a maiming or killing. No longer fits the risk vs benefit model.
