Long story but I bought a 2002 GS1150 from an impeccable seller outside of Philly last May and he had this little bike in his garage when I picked up the GS. It was his best friends who was in Europe. His buddy had ridden it around Europe in the early 70's while in the Navy and then had it shipped to his parents house in Buffalo. His friend however never returned to the US. It then sat in storage with a bunch of parts for 35 years.
He had pulled it out shortly before my trip and was freshening it up for his friend. He had recently done a total resto on a 69s for his friend which received the sport tank originally on this bike. Sadly his buddy passed away shortly after my return to Seattle.
I was reconnecting with him and found out he had made the decision to sell the /2 and wanted me to have it. It is very original although the case was damaged in Italy towards the end of his buddies tour so the numbers do not match.
Looking for shipping now. Very excited to have the opportunity to preserve and ride this bike.
