Those are such sweet, beautiful machines. The smaller the displacement, the smoother they are.

When I was 10 years old, in 1969, my next-door neighbor married her BF. They were about 21 and she used to babysit me. For their honeymoon, they flew to Germany and picked up a new BMW MC and toured Europe for 6 weeks on it, then had it shipped home. I can vividly remember checking it out on the sidewalk on a perfect summer day when it arrived home, how smooth it ran, the shine of the black and chrome, everything.

Can you even imagine how great it would have been to be touring Europe on that with your hot bride and a map in 1969? Sigh...
