Multiple books have been written on the subject. They are currently available through Amazon.
Search the 911 technical forum - there are plenty of comments about how to inspect/test/purchase a used Porsche.
The one piece of advice that I have found to be universal - get a thorough PPI from a reputable shop before you spend any purchase money on ANY Porsche. The money you spend on books for your own education and on pre-purchase inspections can save you multiple times the cost of these up-front expenditures in repairs.
