are you talking about the chip guard ? if you are there is an ez way to remove it but it will be the cost of a air tool to do so . if you don't want to buy the air tool you can grind it off but it's a PITA .
once you do remove the chip gaurd you will want to spray down a coat of etch primer or epoxy primer to cover any bare metal spots . then let that dry and red pad the E-primer . and spray on your new chip guard . i like to use the U-POL gravi-tex chip guard it matches the same texure that porsche has . when it comes to painting time you would want to just spray a coat of sealer over the chip guard . ifyou prime over it it will take some of the texure away and you might not want that ? once you spray sealer you then can go right to you top coats wet on wet .
