WHAT !- I SAID-WHAT!![/QUOTE]

Two things here.

Right or wrong, the top tier F1 drivers make many millions a year. This includes drivers like Rosberg and Massa. It is what it is; F1 bleeds money. Product sponsorship brings in more megamillions. Corporations want sportsmen and athletes that have been successful.

Schumacher, through force of will, was instrumental in re-establishing Ferrari as a top-tier team. When he joined up, they were awful. Everything about the F1 team was in disarray. He worked harder and tested more than any driver on the circuit. He's loaded with talent, but he was also smart. He worked his ass off year round to maintain his edge. He's won more championships than a lot of drivers have won races.

Does anyone deserve that kind of dough for winning races? Not for me to decide, but IMHO, he deserves to be at or near the top of the heap in wealth compared to other sportsmen/athletes.

(I am not a rabid fanboy, but I did admire his skill (and enthusiasm) when he was in his prime. He celebrated his 92nd win just as joyously as he did his first, I always like how excited he was on the podium)
