Tonight I was driving my 1999 996 C4 and upon attempting to hit it pretty hard from stop the car completely shut down. The engine stopped all light on dash went on and the interior lights came on. The car re-started just fine and seems to be fine.

Any ideas why this shut down? I may have red-lined it, but I don't think I was that close. Not sure if there is a Rev limit ignition cut out, but I guess I would expect that to be intermittent.
