Last night I finished round one of many little projects I am doing to the 911 to get ready for the Utah trip. The fender to cooler air seal on the oil cooler and short hoses I did earlier in the week. Last night was one of the messiest jobs I have done in a while. I changed the transmission oil. Getting the car up in the air with all four tires off the ground and the car level and high enough for me to get under the transmission is a pain. Draining the oil is easy enough. Filling it back up is messy. I have a little pump that is designed for a gallon container. Of course the Kendall transmission oil comes in quarts.
By the time the transmission was full the catch pan had a lot of oil in it. It is not a difficult job but messy. And of course gear oil stinks! The Kendall smells 10 times better than the blue Swepco I used to use.
That is done. Tonight I will do a quick clean up of the car to get ready for the Hooters car show tomorrow. Sid, it is a shame you are going to miss it. I was going to buy you a beer and your lunch, but since you are not here I will have to eat & drink it myself.
