Because there is nothing natural or nurturing going on there... which is what breast feeding is supposed to be about (see the other pictures posted of the woman cradling children in their PJ's)
I have no problem with breast feeding... it even is common at my work (museum)...
I have no problem with nudity... I think all beaches should be clothing optional...
I agree that Americans are way too uptight about nudity (and many other things)
However the Time cover was posed to be controversial, making a healthy normal part of life controversial (to sell magazines)
THAT is disturbing (IMHO).
Ironically we are setting up a show that has several statues and paintings of bare breasted women!
