Later model MB V8 have two spark plugs per cylinder that fire one after the the other. Not together.
Each plug has its own coil... And they're expensive to replace. (my GF drives one and she had to replace one recently.

I don't know the technical details, time delay etc but MB claims it improves power and helps with emissions.

Now it may be a load of BS but why would they bother if there wasn't some benefit?
