Interesting debate, at times!!! I have a 3.0L 9.5:1 J&E pistons, twin plug engine with webers that Mike at J&B Racing helped me build. Ran it on their engine dyno. It has 2 MSD's. Running both plugs vs one was a 15hp gain (245HP). Being in aviation I too wanted to know if both MSD's where working. Simple I put a switch in the power line to one MSD. Switch it off and watch for the RPM drop just like the mag check on an airplane.
