Let me clear up some of the misinformation going on this thread before it gets worse.

1) When you specified two mirrors from Porsche back in 1972 and 73, what you got was two round large Durants.

2) The passenger mirror on a left drive car was always set back in the position shown on the light yellow car pic above. This is whether it is a round or flag.

3) The round Durant located on the passenger side, even in the correct location is of little use. It was flat , not convex glass. The range of adjustment is not enough to make it effective.

4) Porsche has issued their classic line of 72/73 AND 74 (larger) mirrors in both left and right versions. So the right side 74 you received was incorrect. There is a high quality 72/73 version available. (we keep stock on our shelves, just like our host does)

5) When the flag style gets installed on the right side, it is more effective than the round style, and certainly over the incorrectly installed ones like the red car pictured above. You don't sit in the middle of the car, so symmetrical installations won't work

6) Installing a passenger side mirror means removing the door panel, so you can access the new holes you drill in the door. We have not found any need for a reinforcing plate like the heavier 76 and later power mirrors.

Hope this helps
