Get the car somewhere so you can get a reading on the Air/fuel mix now. That way you can tell if it is running rich or lean. Just turning up the fuel pressure just throws everything off more. If the motor is a 1.7 and you did everything and it still missed it could be the injectors are dirty. OR it could be that you have a vacuum leak and putting in the 2.0 injectors stops it from running lean and missing.
Without somesort of meter to tell you what is wrong you are just shooting in the dark trying not to hit your foot.
Try putting new plugs in a running at temp for a few miles, then pull them to see what color they are. If they are black or black fluffy you are running too rich.
Atleast you know its not the MPS,TBS, distributor now.
