I used to hate the wooden handle breaking off at the threads or always coming loose.
One day I broke the darn thing and looked around and noticed I had an aluminium pole designed for a paint roller fer painting ceilings and stuff.

it's the extendable type that you can make longer or shorter. Guess what? it screwed right into the broom and fit nice.
5 years later haven't had a single problem with it, no breaky no loosey.
