hi all! i just bought my first porsche! an '82 911SC cabriolet, well at least that's what i've been told, and that's what it's registered as, though i've read that the cabriolet didn't come out until '83, and i've also read that all SC's have air cond, and mine is a cabriolet without air cond...
anyway, i've been searching and reading these forums for a few days and figured i'd better join up!
i would love to chat with other 911 owners, especially anybody nearby (Gold Coast) as i'm sure i'm gonna have a constant barrage of questions as i do bits and pieces of work on the car myself. i don't have an owners manual, nor a workshop manual yet, so i may be quite naive, im sorry.

so here's a few questions to get me started:
1) When replacing an OUTER cv boot, do i need to take the axle off at the gearbox end first, so the spline thingie will slide out of the wheel hub? or is there another way?
2) Does anyone know where i can get SCHNORR washers in australia? preferably on the gold coast? or someone who can express post. i've searched through some threads and read you can get them at 'coventry', but couldn't find any on the website.
and lastly(for now), 3) has anyone else had problems with electric windows and/or interior fans not working? i checked the fuses and tried switching the window relay with the horn relay and still no luck, any suggestions to avoid an expensive mechanic's bill?
