I love it when people know nothing and spout off (not that I've ever done that )

Friday of the weekend the track was wet and with little activity. Saturday was cool for the Grand Am, or was it the ALMS? I didn't watch. Sports car bore the hell out of me.

Sunday the track got warm and under the pressure of the Indy cars and the patches started to lift.

But, here's the kicker: those patches were old. They had nothing to do with the race until they failed. No blame goes to Indy car, the promoters and maybe little to the entity that controls the Belle Isle Park for this one race. It's a bad track all the way around. It needs to be dropped from the schedule.

The only fault I see is the red flag was 1 to 2 laps late. I think they were trying to get to 46 laps so they could call the race over if needed. I might have made the same choice and if I did get to 46 laps, I would have called the race. It did no good to continue from a business standpoint. Stick a fork in the whole deal.

And therein may be the crux of the matter, the fact that this is a business and not a sport. We'll see if Randy Barnard survives another week. Apparently he has brought too much of his bull riding to the cars.

While I'm on a rant, I say Roger Penske is bad for the sport. He is not a sport, he is a ruthless monarch dueling with his neighboring kingdoms, the Castles of Ganassi and Andretti. I say one car per owner, one vote per car.

Bring back Derick Walker and hail to Dale (Coyne). You already know how I feel about A.ss J.erk Foyt.
