FWIW, my optometrist-cousin advises me that quality lenses (adhering to the exam results) depend on the lens quality produced by their factory supplier. I took that to mean that the lower-cost options (LensCrafters, Costco, etc.) may not provide the best/most consistent lenses. In addition, progressive lenses are more complicated to make than single vision lenses.
