Hey D, I may have to break down and replace my antique home computer. I put it together close to 10 years ago. I remember the first hard drive I put in it was a 4 gig drive that I thought was huge. The motherboard will only accept 2 gigs of ram.
Right now I have a 1 TB mirrored raid as my boot drive. I did not need that much space but it was actually cheaper than a pair 500 gig drives at the time.
Now the video card is dying.
I want to go with Win7 Pro, 8 gigs of ram and a mirrored raid boot drive again. Something that can be eaisly cloned and moved to a new drive in 5 or six years. I hate had drive failures so I just replace the drive every few years.
I have a 27 inch monitor that has a very high resolution so a good video card is necessaary. I don't play video games so I don't need a game machine.
I have put it off for a long time because of the pain of setting up a new computer system and loading a lot of new software.
Any reccomendations?
