I rode Piuma and Schueren today. From the intersection of Piuma and Malibu Canyon to the top of Stunt.
The marine layer was thick and persistent in those taller coastal mountains so once I got about 3/4 of the way up Piuma I was in the clouds. I couldn't see any of the spectacular view I know is there on the top of Stunt, but at least it was nice and cool for the long ride up. I was still able to see Malibu Canyon and where Malibu Creek meets the ocean from a couple places on Piuma.
It was a long climb but at a nice, constant grade that made it pleasant. The downhill was more fun of course.
I could really get some speed up and it just kept going with lots of nice turns, like Mulholland Highway by the Rock Store only longer. The part on the coast side had some neat scenery in the exposed rock strata and the nice wildflowers growing amongst the rocks. Too bad the sun was not out for the ride back.
