I don't know where to begin. Lemmy is an icon. He started out as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix. He's the frontman and founding member of Motorhead. They're not my favorite band and I can't name more than a handful of their songs. But the man is just a symbol of longevity and hard living. He lives on Jack Daniels and Marlboros and is THE resident rock star of the Sunset Strip scene. He still lives around the corner from the Rainbow Bar & Grill, where he sits at the outside bar, smokes and drinks and plays video poker just about every minute he's not on tour. I have a friend who went there last summer and got to chat with him and Ron Jeremy together. I always visit the Rainbow when I'm in LA, hoping to see him, but no luck yet. He's one of those guy you don't want your kids to emulate, but whom you have to admire for doing it his way and with no apologies. Total hero.
