Update: I'll be working near the east side of LAX, which is pretty much a straight shot 10 miles down the 405 from UCLA.

How long would it take to go north on the 405 10 or 15 miles to UCLA during morning traffic? How about from the Torrance area to UCLA?

I've seen a lot of options for small places around the $1,600-$1,800 range. Some even around Mar Vista, Culver City, Downtown LA. Some more options around Torrance, but I'm concerned that drive will be too long.
