They've always been that way, although yours look a little deeper machined than before. (But maybe its just the extremely clear close up picture you managed to take!)
On the older ones, from more than a foot or so away, you can't really see the lines. Even from closer, most wouldn't notice them unless they were looking for them.
It's their inexpensive way of "fauxing" the Fuchs factory anodize finish.
