The problem: My clock works fine when the car is running. It keeps accurate time and all the lights work normal. However when the car is turned off, it dies. Obviously it's getting power, however could it be a problem with the capacitors? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most likely the capacitors-
I posted a resolution to this issue a while back.
Suggest a search=capacitors.
