I was passing a lot of people and I never got passed, so I guess I made good time. I should have slowed down when I passed that group of girls but it was in the beginning of the ride and to get around them I had to use a bit of the car lane. They looked roughly my age. On road bikes. But hey, I take my rides rather seriously.
On the way back I saw this idiot talking to his significant other, riding beside each other. She was in the bike lane, he was all the way in the car lane (2 lane road). The car slowed and honked when he went by and the cyclist gave him the finger. I came up going like 10 mph faster than him and whipped around him and cut right back into the bike lane in front of him and was gone.

I had Jethro Tull playing a good riff at that point so I was in a mood to sprint.
I wonder how those people feel being passed by an ancient mountainbike ridden by a kid in shorts and a T-shirt, no clip pedals, and wearing a backpack full of water bottles and an air pump sticking out (don't want to spend on a frame-mount one)?
