Good customers are hard to find. That's my point. They are the same airheads that
motion speaks of. Most of them can't make up their minds unless the goal is, "What's the cheapest?"
I don't do cheap.
My target customer has turned out to be over 60 and bucks up. I qualify them on the phone and if it's a price chase, I just tell them I only work by the hour.
Most people around the age of 35, give or take 10 years, have the attention span of a 3 year old regarding all things house. As
motion said, they just want to get into their TV and kids life as soon as they get home.
While talking about improving the home, the benefits v. costs, etc., I've been rudely interrupted by kids, cell phones and the dog. At that point I lay a business card down and thank them for their time. If they didn't get anything from me, it certainly wasn't because I was not willing.
