Maybe he thought that this was his moment -- the moment he had been preparing for all along by buying an "off road" vehicle...

It just goes to show how fake movies are. That type of jump is done all the time in the movies and the SUV keeps speeding away. In reality, the SUV in the vid, had its front suspension collapse, maybe the rear as well and lost control.
