Seattle/Portland vacation
My family (wife, daughters - 11 & 13) are going to Seattle/Portland for vacation in mid-Aug. We only have six days and there is a lot to do up there and I've had to make some sacrifices to make a sensible itinerary. The biggest item getting nixed is Victoria/Vancouver Island. This was done because we really like whitewater activities and are going south instead to the Columbia River Gorge.
Right now my big brush plan is:
Day 1: Tour Seattle
Day 2: San Yuan Islands
Day 3: Mt. St. Helens (get from Seattle to Portland)
Day 4: Columbia River Gorge
Day 5: Float day - main item is to get from Portland back to Seattle (stay in Portland/Columbia River, Mt. Rainer, Seattle)
Day 6: Seattle area/day trip
Any thoughts?
