Don't forget fixing smog levels at what they were when the car was manufactured. Seems like some guys have noticed increasingly stringent smog levels for their cars when they have it checked every two years. My car can easily pass what it was supposed to for the year it was built. But it's going to have problems passing smog levels for 2012. Or 2020.
