You can install any door, BUT the most important thing is "best practices" for the install.
I installed an Andersen Frenchwood gliding door and used the following for the install...
Preformed PVC sill pan
DuPont Flex Wrap
DuPont Straight Wrap
Make darn sure it is PLUMB and LEVEL! Double check it!
Caulking and tar paper flashing just is not enough for doors that are directly exposed to the elements.
The door seals like a vault and is beautiful to look at as well.
