I replaced an aluminum door (in worse shape than yours) with a Pella.
A really nice touch is venetian blinds in between the two glass layers. Love it.
It is vinyl, not 'glass so that won't work in your situation, but just upgrading that stupid door with something modern made the whole room so much nicer.
