One other thing is to crank it with a jumper battery if a battery has a bad cell it can still crank but the starter will draw all the current and there will not be enough for the FICM to operate the injectors. If is is trying to fire most prob not the batteries.

This is good advice. It needs to be scanned and all will be revealed. If she towed it to a competent shop, they've probably already done this and maybe even fixed it by now.

If memory serves, certain sensors, (such as ICP sensor), can fail and leave you parked.
