The biggest variation is usually because one person quotes what a dealer charges and another quotes the price from an official service station. The other variable is that a service generally includes the same things at a minimum, then other things are added. As an example, the bezel listed a few posts back is not generally needed. Usually it's gaskets, crown and crown tube and a crystal (only if it's plastic). Of course, more complicated movements like those in chronographs, are more money. Rolex prices have been pretty consistent for me over the years. They have gone up but not drastically.
